Prospective parents often focus on preparing for the actual birth, but the majority feel ill prepared for the early life that follows. There is growing evidence indicating that the early months of a child’s life are crucial and will have a lifelong impact on the child’s health and wellbeing. The first six months of baby’s life is a major learning curve for any parent whilst trying to cope with their own physical and emotional needs.
This study day is relevant to all health care practitioners, and students caring for expectant and new parents to those who support them in their transition to parenthood.
This study day brings together a number of experts and academics in order to meet the needs of parents and their babies. It will equip practitioners to support parents with evidence based information and support, thus ensuring every child has the best start in life.
